Day 1Arrival

Bhutan has two airline services which fly to Paro, which Druk air and Tashi airlines. While onboard to Paro you will get to see the beautiful mountain ranges of the Himalayas. On arrival at Paro airport, you will be greeted by the respective representatives at the exit terminal. After the formalities, you shall be taken to the capital.
In the evening, a visit to Tashichoe Dzong which was built in 1641, will be scheduled. You will get to see the beautiful monumental fortress which serves as the government’s office as well as His Majesty the King’s Throne room. The Dzong also serves as the summer residence of the chief abbot of the monastic body (Je Khenpo).

Day 2Thimphu

Visit National memorial chorten which was built in the memory of the 3rd King of Bhutan. The place is a landmark where travellers can mingle with the elderly and take pictures of the beautiful scenic view it beholds.
Visit Buddha Point: A colossal Buddha statue is erected at the top of a hill overlooking Thimphu valley. The site is an attraction for the beautiful and eccentric visual display of the Thimphu valley as the Buddha, which is glided in gold sits atop overlooking the capital.
Visit Changangkha monastery: The visit is to let the travellers experience the monks performing rituals and witness the devotion of the people. The monastery was built in the 12th century, which is filled with Buddhist paintings inside.

Lunch
Visit a traditional handmade paper factory: You will be escorted to a factory to see the traditional ways of making paper which is still practised today.
Visit centenary farmers market: The market is where you will get to see the local vendors selling their vegetables, rice, fruits and meats. The place will be crowded, and the goal of the visit is to let the traveller experience a different atmosphere.

Day 3Thimphu-Punakha

After breakfast, guests will be driven to Punakha where a stop will be made at Dochula pass which stands at 3,050m to see the magnificent 108 stupas which were built accompanied by the scenic and majestic Himalayan mountains.
Punakha Dzong: a fortress built during the 17th century which stands between two rivers, Pho Chu (Male River) and Mo Chu (Female river). The Dzong serves as a winter residence for the central monk body.

Lunch
Later, a visit to Rinchengang village will be made. The town has existed since the 17th century, and the guest will have opportunities to take the picture and see the traditional paintings and structure it has to offer. The goal of this visit is to let the guests experience and understand the necessary facilities of the olden days in Bhutan.

Day 4Punakha-Paro

After an early breakfast, the guests will be driven to Paro, and a short stop at Dochula pass will be made. Later, a walk of about 10 minutes will be made to visit the Meditation Centre and then we shall resume our journey to Paro.

Lunch at Paro
Visit Rinpung Dzong and Sangachoekhor. The latter is a Buddhist institute where monks are trained and taught the philosophies related to Buddhism. You will get to see and interact with monks and how their lives are scheduled in the institute.

Day 5Tiger's Nest

An early start is recommended (Summer 7 am and Winter 8 am)
After an early breakfast, you will be driven towards the north of Paro Valley. Here you will have to hike towards your destination, which might take around 4-5 hours depending on the pace. The journey to the destination will let you experience the pristine environment and the scenic beauty of Paro valley. Taktsang Monastery became a holy site due to its history where Guru Rinpoche arrived at the landmark on the back of a tigress from Tibet.
After the visit to Taktsang, the next visit will be Traditional farmhouse where the guest will get the opportunity to see the interior of a traditional Bhutanese house and get to interact with the local family. The goal of this visit is to let the traveller experience life of Bhutanese farmers and see the interiors of a traditional Bhutanese house.

Day 6Departure

After breakfast at the hotel, you will be driven to the airport for your departure. It is recommended that you are to check-in 3 hours before your flight.

How and where do I apply for Visa?

Your Visa to Bhutan can only be applied and processed by an authorized agent. The Visa is approved only when you have met the requirements set up by the Tourism Council of Bhutan when a travel package is picked. You can’t apply for Visa yourself, and Bhutan embassy does not have travel visa services.

What does my tariff pay for?

USD 65 per night (frequently termed as royalty) goes to a development fund for free health care, free education and road-building in Bhutan. The rest of the charge proceeds towards accommodation, meals, and services such as tour guides, transport, drivers and entrance fees to places of attractions

How long does it take to get my Bhutan Visa?

Visa usually takes around a week or two before your arrival in the country.

Am I allowed to bring cigarettes & alcohol into Bhutan?

Yes, all visitors are allowed to bring a litre of alcoholic spirit and up to 200 sticks of cigarettes OR 30 pieces of cigars. However, please be informed that you will have to pay duty taxes at the custom at Paro International Airport or any entry points in Bhutan.

Am I allowed to smoke in Bhutan?

Bhutan is the first country in the world to ban the sales of tobacco products. It is advised not to smoke in open public places to avoid drawing unnecessary attention.

Drukair departs early in the morning during my last day, and I won't be visiting any attractions, will I be exempted from the tariff on the last day?

Yes. Drukair generally departs Paro by 10 am every day. Travellers departing by Drukair will be exempted from the daily tariff on the last day when leaving Bhutan.

My Bhutan travel visa is issued on my old passport, which was close to expiring. Will there be any problems when I reach immigration in Bhutan?

If your Visa to Bhutan is in your old passport, you will have to bring both your old and the new passport to be verified that you are approved to enter the country. Be noted that it is required that your passport has six months before its expiry.
